Commonly grapes are referred to as “fruit,” but technically grapes classify as berries since each fruit develops from a single flower. Grapes can be eaten fresh as table grapes, used for making grape juice and wine.

Consuming grapes is healthy especially the red varieties as the tannins found in red grapes, grape juice, and red wine contain procyanidins, which are effective in preventing cardiovascular disease thanks to their ability to improve blood flow and vessel health this reduces heart disease risk

The Khao Yai area is providing a good micro-climate for growing grapes as temperatures are always a bit cooler especially in the dry season also called winter.

Red Grapes groomed and grown at PB Valley Estate are fresh table grapes of the variety “Marroo Seedless” as well as Shiraz (Syrah), Tempranillo, and Cabernet Sauvignon to produce wine

Established in 1989 PB Valley Estate is the Birthplace of the Khao Yai Wine Region and has become a popular tourist attraction for domestic and international tourists within the destination Khao Yai in the meantime. The guided tour of the vineyards has been awarded the Thai Tourism Award (Kinnaree Award) from the Tourism Authority of Thailand several times already.

Presently the vineyard tour is conducted 4-times daily at 09:30 am, 11:00 am, 01:30 pm, and 03:00 pm. There is also an option to visit the winery and learn step by step how wine is made and that it will take about 1.1 kg of grapes to make one bottle of wine. It ends with a tasting of the wines growing in the estate.

The end of the tour is at the Great Hornbill Winery Restaurant where visitors can enjoy superb Thai and International cuisine with a great view and/or buy premium products of PB Valley like 100% fresh Shiraz grape juice, Passion Fruit Juice, and others.
